The Doctoral School explores the methods and procedures of today's new challenges that are closely related to food and nutrition science and thus to public health, through the coordinated study of several interrelated, complementary and mutually dependent research areas. This multifaceted and interdisciplinary task has justified the integration of researchers from different faculties of the University of Debrecen in order to achieve common goals.
The aim of the Doctoral School of Nutrition and Food Science is to provide the opportunity to obtain a doctoral degree (PhD) in
- nutrition and health
- health and pharmaceutical industry
- food chemistry and biochemistry of the food supply chain
- food safety, food quality assurance, quality characterisation and quality preservation
- food biotechnology and technology
- food quality, nutrition and certain diseases
Research in Food Science and Engineering is becoming increasingly important today, as food safety, food and raw material quality, and the application of novel methods and processes in the food chain create new challenges, often closely linked to nutrition and health. Their link with food quality represents a growing proportion of the world's research in this area.
